MMSx Research Streams
Domain-aligned research architecture for applied and clinical movement science.
Research within the MMSx Authority ecosystem is organized into structured Research Streams.
Each stream represents a long-term scientific focus area rather than a single project or publication. This structure allows applied biomechanics research to remain traceable, scalable, and clinically interpretable across populations and use-cases.
Each stream may contain:
- Registered studies (active or completed)
- Open abstracts and extended abstracts
- Methods documentation and white papers
- Preprints and peer-reviewed publications (when available)
Stream 1 — Gait, Locomotion & Load Distribution
Focus: Human gait as a mechanical, neuromuscular, and load-tolerance phenomenon across walking, running, fatigue, and environmental constraints.
Typical outputs: temporal–spatial parameters, symmetry/asymmetry metrics, plantar load behavior, fatigue-induced strategy shifts, injury-risk indicators.
This stream forms a core foundation for multiple downstream applications, including rehabilitation, footwear, and performance contexts.
Stream 2 — Spine, Trunk & Load-Tolerance Science
Focus: Spinal load management, trunk control, intra-abdominal pressure mechanisms, confidence-driven movement strategies, and tolerance-based adaptations.
Typical outputs: load-path frameworks, spinal stability models, movement confidence mapping, task-specific tolerance thresholds, clinical interpretation of pain-adaptive mechanics.
Stream 3 — Prosthetics, Orthotics & Footwear Biomechanics
Focus: Human–device interaction, interface pressures, gait adaptation with assistive devices, footwear-mediated load redistribution, and clinical alignment considerations.
Typical outputs: plantar pressure profiling, device alignment effects, compensatory gait strategies, longitudinal adaptation patterns, clinical decision frameworks.
This stream integrates clinical biomechanics with real-world device use, supporting translational research across rehabilitation, orthotics, prosthetics, and footwear science.
Stream 4 — Strength, Sport & Performance Biomechanics
Focus: Movement mechanics under high-load and high-velocity conditions, force-vector expression, SSC behavior, RFD optimization, and fatigue resilience.
Typical outputs: technique frameworks, joint moment analysis, load-sharing strategies, performance risk modeling, and applied training standards.
Stream 5 — Clinical Movement Dysfunction & Rehabilitation Translation
Focus: Movement dysfunction patterns, assessment logic, corrective sequencing, and return-to-activity frameworks under clinical and real-world constraints.
Typical outputs: screening models, staged correction pathways, rehabilitation-to-performance transitions, and practitioner-ready decision tools.
How Research Is Accessed
- Each stream links to the Study Registry, where every study is indexed by Study ID and status.
- Abstracts and extended abstracts are provided openly where possible.
- Preprints and white papers are clearly labeled by review status.
- Raw datasets may be restricted to protect participant privacy but can be reviewed upon request under governance guidelines.

Research Integrity Note
MMSx Authority research streams are not created in response to individual inquiries or short-term interests. They represent sustained scientific directions shaped by applied biomechanics, clinical relevance, and ethical governance.
